Eagles Nest Youth Ranch is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to working with children and youth and adults residing in group home environments in Prince Albert, Saskatoon and the Battlefords.
We are seeking a Cultural Program Coordinator to join our team, to facilitate Cultural Programming to all Eagles Nest programs locations in Saskatoon. The Cultural Program Coordinator will be well informed and up-to-date on issues affecting Indigenous peoples, and will play a key role in ensuring a variety of Indigenous teachings, spirituality, and other programs to support cultural identity are integral aspects of youth programming.
Responsibilities include:
To coordinate the delivery of innovative programming solutions involving, but not limited to: group activities, workshops, seminars, traditional crafts, indigenous languages, ceremonies and teachings, land- based teachings, and summer culture camps
To ensure programming is safe, supportive, culturally-informed, and based on caring, respect, growth, and learning
To provide positive role modelling to youth, to conduct themselves as a caring adult authority figure
Qualifications include:
A combination of education and experience in Human Services, knowledge about the various cultures, values, beliefs and traditions of Indigenous peoples and groups and previous experience developing community programming, partnerships, and connections to Indigenous communities. The Cultural Program Coordinator will have lived experience as an Indigenous person. This position requires: strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment, effective and professional communication and presentation skills, and proficient time management and organizational capabilities.
