Customer Service / Cashier

Leong’s Nursery is a retailer and wholesaler of bedding plants and vegetable starters located in Burnaby, BC. We supply plants to garden centres, landscapers and municipalities throughout the Lower Mainland and we’re looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals to join our retail department as a Cashier/Customer Service Representative.

You will be responsible for:

• Processing customer transactions through the cashier and card machine.
• Providing excellent Customer Service to all customers who come into the store by educating them in the basics of care and maintenance of annuals, perennials, vegetable starters or related product.
• Greeting and guiding customers to the location of the requested items.
• Maintaining, rotating, and cleaning annuals, perennials, and vegetable starters and nursery stock to ensure cleanliness.
• Cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting all common workstations and carts; general upkeep and tidiness of the work floor.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a knack for retail in providing customers with a positive shopping experience.
• Has a strong work ethic and is able to work under minimal supervision.
• Is able to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.

Bonus points if you have:

• Previous Customer Service experience.
• Basic plant ID skills and horticulture knowledge.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, Weekends, Holidays; Approx. April 2024 – June 2024

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 3 months

Salary: $16.75 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
