Job description

As we are constantly growing, we are seeking to hire a full time Damage Prevention Technicians. The ideal candidates must have experience locating private projects/properties, have dealt with different locating methods, and doesn’t mind long distance travelling. We also welcome entry level individuals. MS Locates provides PAID training to those who are looking to change their career path and join the industry of utility locates.

Responsibilities

• Conduct utility locates as required.
• Conduct research or analyze data regarding excavation locations, construction prints and plans to determine actual lines of requested utilities.
• Operate various electronic devices including use of a receiver and transmitter designed to assist in the locating and verifying of underground utilities including gas, phone and fiber optic cables.
• Mark utility lines using spray paint or coloured flags.
• Prepares various reports and documentation verifying marked utilities using different software on a laptop.
• Complete locates that aligns with MS Locates standards and schedules as required.

Qualifications

• Valid G class driver’s license
• Access to private vehicle
• Ability to work outdoors
• Previous experience locating utilities is an asset
• Previous experience reading blueprints an asset
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving skills and customer service skills
• Damage Prevention Technician certificate is an asset
• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
