Data Management and Reporting Officer
We are looking for a detail-oriented Data Management and Reporting Officer who will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and Reporting data to provide insights and recommendations to the management team and meet the Association’s obligations. Duties and Responsibilities
The Data Management and Reporting Officer collects and analyzes data to develop qualitative and quantitative reports. They use their effective analytical and research skills to gather pertinent information. They also prepare, process, and review payroll, accounts payable and receivable, invoices, and other financial records. They will report to and assist the Controller in completing various bookkeeping tasks. Here are some of their primary responsibilities:
· Creating and maintaining databases with relevant information.
· Training employees to use these databases.
· Gathering raw data from different sources.
· Analyzing data to determine its relevancy to the organization.
· Preparing reports of their findings to help management make informed decisions.
· Presenting their findings to Management and offering advice based on their results.
· Collaborating with IT employees to troubleshoot technical issues.
· Developing analytical tools and programs that meet organizational needs.
· Reviewing data reports to ensure they're accurate.
· Create and maintain reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends.
· Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to increase efficiency and effectiveness of reporting.
· Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through presentations and written reports.
· Responds proactively and positively to requests for ad-hoc information or reports.
· Reviews report drafts with management teams in a timely manner before any submission.
· Designs, compiles and produces other reports as required by management.
· Completing and submitting various stakeholder forms
· Maintaining and updating financial records in an organized manner
· Recording journal entries
· Reconciling variances between ledgers and reports.
· Adhering to accounting principles and relevant regulations.
· Performing other bookkeeping duties
Skills and Qualifications
The Data Management and Reporting Officer needs various skills to perform their duties and responsibilities. They must also be detail-oriented and concentrate for long periods. Other important skills and qualifications include:
· College Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Office Administration, Business, Accounting, or Finance
· 2+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, or business intelligence
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze significant amounts of information
· Exceptional written and oral communication skills
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to be work independently and able to work on teams cross-functionally
· Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
· Excellent organization skills
· Ability to maintain confidentiality when managing organizational records
· Computer proficiency to work with digitalized records
· Strong numeracy skills
· Ability to problem-solve with a track record of producing results
· Exceptional time management skills
Education and Training requirements
Generally, a job applicant should have prior work experience working in Data Management. It is preferable to have experience working with database software systems. The successful candidate must have significant experience using Microsoft Excel.
Preference will be given to candidates with specific accounting training from an accredited post-secondary institution. The candidate must understand the importance of various business documents such as invoices, bank statements, and purchase orders.
Strong candidates may also have experience working as a Financial Clerk, Accounting Clerk, or Accounting Assistant.
