Day Care Assistant

About us

Starseeds Daycare is a licensed facility owned and operated by one employee, who requires an assistant for help with duties and relief for appointments etc.

The children range from age 1-5 and capacity is 7 with 2 under 2 and up to 4 under 4.

Training is provided for 1-2 weeks while the staff verification process is underway. Training is paid, staff get a Christmas bonus, hours are flexible.

This job is not for you if you do not have experience with babies &. toddlers, or if you are stressed outside of work. This is a calm, nurturing environment where staff must be on point, paying attenton to detail, thinking fast, and ensuring the safety of the children.

Responsibilities:
- Provide care and support to children in a classroom setting
- Assist with daily activities, including mealtime, playtime, and naptime
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to implement educational programs
- Monitor children's behavior and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities to promote their physical, social, and cognitive development
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom

Requirements:
- Previous experience in caregiving or working with children is preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- Ability to educate and interact with children in a positive and supportive manner
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to handle challenging behaviors
- High school diploma or equivalent education required; additional certification in early childhood education is a plus

Salary: $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
