Delivery Driver

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Delivery Driver to join our team. As a Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods to our customers and picking up at our suppliers. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to lift & handle 50 lbs., and a valid class 5 driver's license.

Shift: 9:30am to 6pm

Vehicle: F-550 1-Ton Automatic Truck with 12 ft deck

Duties:

• Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport product to customers and pick up at our suppliers.
• Load and unload products from the vehicle using proper equipment and load securement.
• Follow delivery schedules and routes provided by the dispatcher.
• Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries.
• Communicate with our Shipping Department to ensure accurate and timely deliveries and to advise of any delays or questions.
• Use of a forklift to load and unload product from deck.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as checking oil levels and tire pressure or as determined by pre-trip inspection checklists.
• Maintain a clean and organized delivery vehicle.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving
• Adhere to all customers, suppliers, and Comco’s worksite safety requirements and procedures;
• Perform all tasks safely, professionally, and as directed by management.

Requirements:

• Work Experience: 3 years of commercial driving in making deliveries and securing of loads;
• Class 5 License: Class 5 with excellent driving skills and a clean driving record (abstract to be provided);
• Forklift Certificate: 1 years’ experience, preferred;
• Excellent communication skills to deal with customers and suppliers;
• Ability to read, write, and understand English;
• Ability to read orders, bill of ladings, and understand product quantities;
• Physically able to lift, carry, and move at least 50lbs on a regular basis, climb into cab of truck or onto bed of truck, and manually winch with a tie down bar for strapping;
• Wear the required PPE (Hard hat, steel toed safety boots, safety glasses, etc.).
