The Delivery Manager leverages agile and traditional project management frameworks and practices to support the delivery of value-driving initiatives. This individual will work with business and technology stakeholders to enable and mobilize roadmaps into execution; communicate risks, assumptions, highlight team and project impediments and help drive a culture of continuous improvement within the delivery practice.

What will you do?

Initiative Delivery & Roadmap Readiness

  • Facilitate high complexity or multiple medium-to-low complexity initiatives from initiation through release, provide oversight to ensure alignment with

  • Agile/Project Management practices including, but not limited to project kick-off, sprint, release and deployment planning

  • Accountable alongside the scrum team for the achievement of release objectives and results that meet LOB stakeholders’ needs and expectations

  • Manage risk governance processes, operational planning, and vendor management

  • Remove impediments to delivery success through the proactive management of external dependencies, team problem-solving and the development of new solutions or approaches to ongoing challenges; authority to execute against new approaches and escalate issues through business and/or IT channels where necessary.

  • Act as the liaison between Ventures and the larger RBC Enterprise on delivery and integration as needed


Coaching & Facilitation

  • Continuously seek to improve team performance by promoting joint accountability of results and solving productivity issues; includes defining and tracking key team performance metrics to reinforce expected behaviors (DORA metrics, Say/Do ratio, unit test coverage, etc.) and continuous improvement

  • Engage in and facilitate requirements, user experience and technical conversations across platforms and multiple levels of influence

  • Provide proactive coaching to individuals on the business and technology teams.

  • Recommend continuous improvement of processes to optimize team productivity and drive the team to become self-organizing and self-improving in their delivery practices


Cross-Functional Communication and Reporting

  • Communicate cross functionally, ensuring transparency of progress and outcomes, report team progress and accomplisments up and across the organization

  • Facilitate cross functional communication by documented status updates, sprint/product demos and retrospectives

What do you need to succeed?


Must Have's:

  • 4-5 years of experience as a Scrum Master/PM/Delivery Manager – where agile and project management principles, practices and theory were diligently applied

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development and/or project management and/or business (system) analysis

  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities & influence others without authority

  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written, including presentation and facilitation skills

  • Skillful in Project Management and team collaboration tools, JIRA, Confluence

  • Outcomes focused mindset


Nice-to-Have:

  • Ability to apply RBC Agile Management Framework and well documented Agile

  • Certified Advanced Scrum Master/PMP Certification or equivalent
