WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Enterprise Architecture team is undertaking multiple complex enterprise-wide initiatives as part of RBC’s ongoing plan to improve technology management and architectural governance across the organization. In this role you will be responsible for strategically planning and managing successful implementation of the above mentioned. The role will coordinate, develop, lead, communicate and execute activities to ensure objectives are accomplished according on time.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- This role will work with the other Directors of Enterprise Architecture Tooling and Governance to lead a team with a mandate to develop the strategy and execution of the EA solution governance/Athena strategy as well as a backlog of initiatives focused on enhancing and enabling several capabilities and services within the solution architecture design and governance space at RBC
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture teams and key partners (Third Party Risk, GCS, TI etc.) to identify opportunities that will support business strategies across the enterprise
- Execute plans and tactics to achieve strategic objectives related to data quality and enablement across Enterprise Architecture and cross-functional teams
- Lead the strategic implementation of systems, processes and controls to ensure efficient and compliant data management operations
- Identify and execute innovative opportunities to improve the user experience, simplify data maintenance efforts, and uncover strategic insights
- A prime focus of this role will be on the delivery of a key initiative:
- EA Tooling and Governance Transformation Strategy – Assessment, development and execution of any direct or indirect implications/opportunities as part of the larger EA project around APM transformation. As the APM transformation project evolves, EA must consider opportunities beyond the core APM requirements being satisfied, and into the other branches of Tooling and Governance (TechScape, Athena) for similar opportunities
Must have:
- Practical experience with one or more of Jira, Confluence, other workflow and/or collaboration tools
- Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and project.
- Strong organizational, project management and time management capabilities.
- A strong understanding of technology and/or financial services industry.
- Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Experience in a matrix environment, such as a large, publicly-traded corporation
- Ability to facilitate between and influence key decision makers
- Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses
