About the role
We’re looking for a Director, National Surety Solutions - Quebec, to join our team!
What you’ll do here:
Implementation of underwriting guidelines and best practices supporting our surety governance framework.
Working with large accounts and supporting key broker and client relationships.
Collaborate and supporting regional leadership groups and their respective underwriting teams.
Implementing risk management initiatives including large exposure monitoring in collaboration with the VP National Surety Solutions.
Approve account limits, over line requests, and making recommendations/approvals on larger accounts.
Responsible for coordinating portfolio management strategies in the Quebec region.
Leading, coaching, and mentoring underwriters and motivating them towards success.
Collaborate with other members in the department to achieve shared goals.
Conducting performance reviews and career developing discussions.
Ensure corporate objectives and policies are being achieved and maintained.
What you bring to the table:
University degree or college diploma in business, accounting, finance, or economics.
Minimum of 7 to 10 years of relevant surety experience.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Effective analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
Superior organization and communication skills
Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
Can make independent decisions within the mandate.
Can deal effectively and respectfully with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Advanced computer skills with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Bilingualism (French / English) – Need to interact on a regular basis with an English-speaking clientele and colleagues across the country.
No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
