The Financial Services Branch within the Ministry of Health is seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented individual to join our team in the position of Director of Operations and Internal Audit.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Financial Services, this Senior level position is responsible for leading a team of dedicated professionals to support the development, implementation and monitoring of the Ministry's annual financial accounting and reporting processes; Internal Audit and contract management; and accommodation and support services for the Ministry.
The Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Direct and oversee the year-end activities of the Ministry; prepare the Ministrys year-end financial schedules and prepare the financial information for a variety of purposes including governments Public Accounts, Public Losses Reports and Global Estimates;
- Lead, develop and manage the Ministry's financial policies and procedures to safeguard assets and minimize the risk of fraud and error, meet Provincial Comptroller and Provincial Auditor requirements and act as the senior financial Ministry liaison with Provincial Comptrollers, Provincial Auditor, health sector partners and other ministry branches as required;
- Provide oversight for contract administration, records management, and accommodation services.
Typically, the successful candidate will have a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation with several years of directly related experience.
