OC TRANSPORT - DISPATCH/ CUSTOMER SERVICE
JOB TITLE: Dispatch/ Customer Service

This position will be responsible to the Operations Co-ordinator at OC Transport.
This is a full time position, with a work week of Monday to Friday. 6:30 - 3:30pm.

WHO WE ARE:
OC Transport is a Calgary based transportation company that specializes in moving construction equipment. We move a variety of equipment such as zoom booms, scissor lifts, excavators, loaders, sea cans and more. Most of the work is done locally in Calgary and surrounding areas, but also to our neighbouring provinces.
We also have a Bulk Product division where we offer dump truck/ gravel truck services within Calgary and to the surrounding communities.
DISPATCHER/ CUSTOMER SERVICE ROLE DESCRIPTION:
- Receiving orders by text, by phone call and by email and filling out the necessary
paperwork.
- Track loads and provide updates to customers.
- Maintain accurate records of all transportation activities and add important notes
to the daily schedule for reference later.
- Dispatch trucks and drivers daily to maximize efficiency.
- Stay in contact with customers to understand incoming work.
- Resolve any issues or delays in transportation.
- Check load boards for back hauls.
- Set up drivers and start times for the following day.
- Permits. Knowing what our current permits are and ordering any specialized
permits required.
- Create and calculate customer quotes.
- Monitor database for customer account status.
- Keep the CRM and all necessary data entered.
- Assist with Employee personnel issues and document all information as necessary.
- Lead bi-weekly driver’s meeting.
- Work together with Lead Drivers to oversee and manage the driver’s operations.
- Be a great communicator within the OC Transport team.
- Assist the team daily as needed.
- Lead by example in the behaviours and culture of OC Transport.
REQUIRED SKILLS TO SUCCEED IN YOUR ROLE:
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
- Needs to be proficient in data entry and have strong computer skills.
- Excellent phone etiquette communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have previous managerial or supervisory skills.
- General Truck knowledge an asset.
- General knowledge of the city an asset.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
