Engineering Technologist
Start Date: Immediately
Responsibilities:
- Manage new products from design initiation through manufacturing
- Produce original designs and modify existing products to meet Client requirements
- Assist in solving technical issues forwarded by Clients
- Creation of solid models for use in design and manufacturing drawings
- Develop and maintain manufacturing and welding construction drawings
- Development of approval drawings and technical documentation for Clients
- Prepare design submissions for Regulatory Authority registration
- Assist Sales in communication with Customers and outside Engineers on a technical level
- Periodic domestic and international travel (legally able to enter and exit the U.S.)
Skills:
- Proficiency in 3D modeling with Solidworks design software required
- Working knowledge of ASME BPVC, CSA and ASME Pipeline Codes
- Background in mechanical design and manufacturing in the Oil & Gas Industry
- Understanding of ASME drawing standards, weldment detailing and Bill of Materials
- Knowledge of mechanism design and theory is an asset
- Strong computer skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications
- Willingness to work in both an office and fabrication shop environment
- Willingness to visit fabrication shops and field locations as required
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving abilities with minimal supervision
Candidate Profile:
- Diploma in Engineering Technology (Engineering Design and Drafting)
- Certified Engineering Technologist registered with the Alberta Society of Engineering Technologists (A.S.E.T.)
- 1-3 Years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Must hold themselves responsible for all project activities
- Recognizes areas for self-improvement through continuing education and self study
- Participates in training courses and shows initiative for professional development
- Must possess excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must possess Canadian citizenship or permanent residency status
Job Type:
