Position Overview:
As an Entry-Level Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our finance team with various accounting and financial tasks. You will have the opportunity to learn and grow within the organization while contributing to the success of our expanding company.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and accounts payable/receivable functions.
2. Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents.
3. Reconcile bank statements and assist in month-end closing procedures.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary financial information.
5. Support the preparation of financial reports and statements.
6. Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards.
7. Facilitate the bi-weekly payroll processing procedure.
In light of our status as a growing company, wherein not all systems and processes are currently established to the extent found in larger firms, prospective candidates will be entrusted with collaborating closely with the Controller and General Manager. The expectation is for them to actively participate in the formulation, enhancement, and execution of accounting processes, as well as contribute to the seamless day-to-day operations of the organization.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
6. Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
Benefits and Compensation:
This is a full-time position based in Sherwood Park, requiring a standard 40-hour workweek. The company extends the following benefits package:
- Competitive Salary: Commencing at $48,000, subject to increments aligned with increasing responsibilities and ongoing training.
- Vacation Entitlement: 80 hours in the first year, escalating to 120 hours in the second year.
