The Executive Director UHNBC Operations (the ED) provides leadership in the planning, integration, delivery and evaluation of programs and services for University Hospital of Northern British Columbia (UHNBC) in the context of a regional system of service delivery, and as the referral site that delivers regional tertiary services within an academic, clinical research-oriented setting. The ED ensures that quality care is provided to both local and regional populations served and that UHNBC Business Plans are achieved. The incumbent participates as a key member of the clinical operations management team within Prince George to build and implement operational plans to achieve strategic priorities and leads out a similar senior leadership team within UHNBC to implement local priorities as well as regional strategies for improved regional tertiary services. In collaboration with the UHNBC Chief of Staff, physician leaders and senior clinical service leaders within Prince George, the ED contributes to the development and recommendation of short-, mid- and long-term goals and objectives for UHNBC and for integrated tertiary services across the region.
Starting salary will be approximately from $150,803 to $188,504 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualfications
•Master's degree in a Health Administration or a related discipline;
•Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of experience in progressively senior health care administration roles, preferably in a regional tertiary service setting.
•Or and equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills and Abilities:
•Knowledge of the operations of a regional tertiary acute care hospital including an understanding of the interrelationships between the various professional/non-professional staff within the facilities.
•Knowledge of community and long-term care operations, including an understanding of the interrelationships between the various professional/non-professional staff within the facilities.
•Knowledge of integrated inter-professional primary care models and the role and contribution of tertiary care facilities and post-secondary educational institutions to the success of that model.
•Ability to develop productive working relationships with physicians - family practice and multiple specialists.
•Knowledge of clinical research and ability to develop this area.
•Knowledge of the attributes of a teaching hospital and the ability to develop the culture of one.
