The Facility Support Worker is responsible for the supervision of residents while maintaining the security and safety of Lavers House, a Community Residential Facility (CRF). The facility supervisor is responsible for directly supervising resident actions and movements, thus assuring that all program rules and regulations are followed. In addition, the Facility Supervisor is to ensure that all breaches or suspected breaches of a resident’s Conditional Release (Parole) are reported immediately to the designated authority (Professional staff).
The Facility Support Worker informally counsels and supports residents with problem solving and conflict resolution, and is responsible for maintaining accountability and a positive atmosphere that promotes client motivation and change.

- Ability to work with clients who have mental health, addictions and substance use and engage strategies to provide meaningful support;

Minimum Requirements
- Community College Diploma with specialization in the field of criminal justice or equivalent.
- Valid First Aid - CPR Certification.
- Non–Violent Crisis Intervention.
- Must have effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
- Ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds with multiple problems.
- Leadership skills and the capability of working as part of a cohesive team and a willingness to assist all team members with all aspects of the position.
- Ability to act as a positive role model for program clients.
- Must possess suitable typing skills, basic computer literacy.
- Must be calm in busy and sometimes stressful situations.
- Must be well organized.
- Must have the ability to understand and be sensitive to cultural differences.
Reliability Status (Background Check)
All hired employees must hold a valid RELIABILITY STATUS granted or approved by either the Department Security Division (DSD) of CSC or the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate (CISD) of Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).

Salary: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
