Farmers Market Booth Attendant/Manager - Elora Tea

Are you an outgoing individual, who enjoys the vibe of Farmers Markets, engaging with retail customers, and who is looking for engaging part-time work? This opportunity may be for you.

Elora Tea's core business is retailing premium quality loose leaf tea at Farmers Markets. In addition, we set up 'a tea shop in their shop', placing tea stands containing a wide variety of retail-ready loose leaf tea and accessories in regional grocery stores. The successful candidate will organize and run a weekly booth at the Elora Farmers Market, which runs from 9am-1pm every Saturday. The work will include setting up and taking down our canopy and stall, engaging with customers, and monitoring stock levels. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for booking Elora Tea into community events such as Elora Riverfest, the Fergus medieval faire and the Fergus Scottish Festival, and running our booth at those events.

We have additional opportunities which candidates can take on if seeking additional hours, including:

• marketing our 'tea shop in their shop' to regional grocery stores;
• marketing our teas to local restaurants;
• delivering tea orders to regional grocery stores;
• working on a casual basis at our St. Jacobs Market location;
• once our commercial kitchen is complete, working in the kitchen to bag retail ready teas.

Pay is $18 an hour. If the candidate takes on other responsibilities such as deliveries or marketing trips, we reimburse milage at 60 cents per kilometer, in addition to the hourly pay.

Experience and knowledge of retail sales is not necessary. The ideal candidate will be positive and outgoing, will enjoy the vibe of farmer's markets, and likes dealing with customers. Retirees or stay-at-home parents who looking to return to the workforce are encouraged to apply.
