We are looking for an energetic agricultural professional with a positive attitude who enjoys working with farmers in the field.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain close farm customer relations with key clients in a professional manner.
- Proactive communication with the team of grower customers, colleagues and suppliers.
- Help develop and implement grower specific agronomic crop plans (scouting, crop health checks, pest & nutrient ID and monitoring, agronomic support)
- Crop planning including nutrient fertilizer recommendations and implementing variable rate programs.
- Providing customer support and technical advice on crop production.
- Monitoring, tracking and recording customer activities and field sales.
- Marketing specific products and services; crop scouting, pest and nutrient management, mapping and soil sampling.
- Arrange and coordinate various technical and marketing activities, including field days, field signing, farmer meetings, demonstration trials and trial sites.
- Market, sell and distribute seed to existing and new customers.
- In field SWAT related activities including mapping, ground truthing and soil sampling.
- Remain informed regarding technical developments, marketing trends, competitor strategies via networking, personal development and training.
- Manage inventory and keep accurate records.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Agriculture or related field.
- Experience and knowledge of Western Canadian Agricultural Practices.
- Understanding of 4R Nutrient Management and Variable Rate Technologies.
- Experience in field recommending crop production practices.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Eligible for membership into the Alberta Institute of Agrologists and/or the Certified Crop Advisors program.
- Valid Drivers License.
