Field Technician

Hitech Communications Ltd. is the largest distributor of wireless voice, data, and video solutions in Atlantic Canada with 30+ years of industry leading experience, partnering with Motorola, JVC Kenwood and Avigilon.

With five branches across Atlantic Canada, Hitech employs a wide range of installation and technical team members and will provide extensive on-the-job training.

As a field service technician with Hitech, you will be involved in the installation and support of wireless communications systems.

Our technical department is the soul of Hitech. As a technician, you will be involved in all aspects of the company and start off responsible for some of the basic aspects of our business. As you grow, we will support you in your technical role and invest in more in-depth training to ensure your success in the Hitech organization.

Responsibilities:

- Working with customer(s) and providing correct solutions for communication needs in a team-based environment

- Site surveys for various communications needs/issues

- Generate new business for the company

- Completing technical field work

- Troubleshooting issues using various test equipment - spectrum analyzer, watt meter, network analyzer, cable/antenna analyzer, network cable tester

- Programming of 2-way radios subscriber for radio system

- Install various 2-way communications in equipment (light/heavy)

- Install various 2-way communications in fixed structures (office buildings, gas plant buildings)

- Install of GPS/AVL systems

- Install of bi-directional amplifier

- Termination of different cables (coax, cat5 etc)

- Diagnosing errors or technical problems, and determining proper solutions

- Managing all on site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks

- Maintaining accurate, detailed, and timely service reports

- Operating a vehicle in a safe manner

- Following all company procedures and protocols

The majority of work will be completed outdoors in all weather conditions and includes climbing ladders

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $45,000.00-$80,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• On call
• Overtime
