Finance Analyst France

What will you work on?

Reporting to the Sr. Finance Manager South Europe, the Finance Analyst is to assist the Spin Master Accounting team in ensuring that accounting and reporting is accurate and timely for Spin Master France.

The candidate will be a key contributor to the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting and reporting processes including supporting the internal and external audit information requests. The candidate will also support the accounting team and the businesses unit leaders to enable the understanding of local financial performance and monthly variance reporting at a cost center level. This will also include any forecast and budgeting processes.

The Candidate will be required to review and ensure the fiscal obligations of Spin Master France, working with external advisors, and participate in the preparation of the relevant tax returns tax declarations ensuring payment of these upon approval on a timely basis.

How will you create impact?

• Month end journal preparation for general ledger and balance sheet reviews (excluding accounts receivable, accounts payable and inter-company entries);

• Prepare bank reconciliations and update the cash forecasts;

• Analyze and control payroll files and park payroll, vacation days and other payroll related journals;

• Follow-up lease obligations under IFRS16 liaising with Corporate HQ  (Nomos system update) and  prepare and park monthly journals;

• Prepare monthly InterCo reconciliations and InterCo and bank FX revaluation and work with the InterCo Analyst to settle open items;

• Follow up, calculate and park monthly accruals, provisions, prepaid items as well as tangible and intangible assets’ depreciation and amortization;

• Control, analyze and park various journals upon request (e.g. AFDA, GIT Rev. Cut-off, etc.);

• Analysis and follow-up/park journals of marketing budget and accruals; samples ; credit card actuals and accruals;

• Maintain and update monthly reporting files including but not limited to fixed assets reporting, monthly submission file, BPC InterCo update, PPE, etc.

• Maintain and update monthly Balance Sheet reconciliation file as per approved format and internal controls requirements;

• Participate in the preparation of the Monthly Management Reporting Exec Pack and the Quarterly Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss variance analysis commentary;

• Preparation of Cash Flow forecast on a regular basis

• Business partnering, supporting local management teams in understanding their financial data, variance analysis and performance;

• Assist with the budget/forecast submission, and preparation of the overhead budgets working with the business unit leaders;

• Work closely with the Finance Team in the Shared Services function in Bratislava, other Finance Colleagues in Europe, and the Corporate Headquarters in Toronto to provide accurate information on a timely basis;

• Identify and work with the finance manager and other finance team members to improve processes to deliver a more efficient and effective financial reporting and analysis;

• Support the Finance Team in other areas, projects and initiatives as needed.

Taxes :

• VAT Control and declaration for Spin Master France;

• DEB Control and declaration for Spin Master France;

• Declaration and payment of other various taxes (C3S, CVAE, TVS, CFE, etc.);

• Completion of Gathering Tool for Income Tax return filing;

• Follow-up of quarterly Income Tax Prepayments;

• Other as needed.

Statutory and Audits :

• Prepare the Statutory Financial statements in French GAAP;

• Participate in the preparation of the year end statutory documents: Notes to the Financial Statements, Management report, Agenda and proposal for decisions for the Shareholders’ meeting, etc.

• Establish the FEC (Accounting Entry File);

• Prepare and control supporting documents requested by statutory auditors;

• Participate in statutory, tax, internal and other audits;

• Other as needed

What are your skills and experience?

• Ability to work independently, being highly self-motivated

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required;

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;

• Ability to work across multiple European teams and functions;

• An understanding of technical accounting of IFRS and French GAAP;

• In-depth expert knowledge of SAP (incl BI and BPC) to a high level is essential;

• Goal oriented to achieve targets through motivation, persistence determination.

 Required Qualifications Experience:

• Min 5 years’ experience including knowledge of French Accounting and Tax system and requirements; prior experience in an audit company will be a plus.

• Experience of working in a multinational FMCG company is preferred.

• Education: Financial accounting Financial Management.

• English Language essential
