The Finance Manager will play a critical role in the financial management of the company, overseeing all financial activities including payroll, bookkeeping, financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company's financial health and compliance with all financial regulations and standards. This is a multifaceted role that combines operational tasks with strategic financial oversight, ideal for a proactive and experienced CPA who enjoys working in a dynamic small business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute all aspects of payroll and bookkeeping, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analyses.
- Develop and manage financial controls and policies.
- Lead budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow management activities to support strategic decision-making.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the CEO/owner to drive business growth and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors, accountants, and financial advisors as required.
- Manage and mentor any finance department staff or external contractors.
Qualifications:
- Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required.
- A minimum of 5 years of finance experience, ideally in a similar role within a small business environment.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and corporate finance.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues.
- Proactive, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
