Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

• Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Ensures/oversees the provision of accurate, comprehensive, and timely financial review, analysis, and evaluation of Automotive Finance's performance for use in AF Senior Management and Executive decision-making by:
• Reviewing business performance against established benchmarks (the Bank's strategic and business objectives, the returns expected from specific initiatives or expenditures, the annual profit plan targets, and market potential) with the commentary addressing variances
• Analyzing significant trends and developments as well as the business, economic, and market factors underpinning the results
• Reviewing analyses/reports/commentary prepared by staff and ensuring reports are professionally presented and produced in an accurate and timely fashion
• Preparing dashboards and presentations for Senior Management and Executive with commentary and supporting documentation
• Reviewing and validating financials prepared by CBF for AF products, providing variance analysis and commentary to CBF, AF Senior Management, and Executive
• Continuously reviewing and enhancing current financial reporting procedures to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of reporting, improve efficiency of reporting processes, and maintain data integrity
• Ensures/oversees the preparation/update of AF annual profit plan and medium-term outlook covering volume growth, margins, non-interest revenue targets, Strategic Investments Pool plan, as well as staffing plans and operating budgets, in the context of AF business objectives, opportunities and historical performance patterns. This entails preparing dashboards and presentations for Senior Management and Executive with supporting commentary and documentation.
• Oversees the preparation of periodic forecasts required by CBF for volumes, margins, non-interest revenue (NIR), staffing, and operating expenses, based on the analysis of the historical trends, seasonality, market competitive landscape, macroeconomic trends, and the information about projected new product/program launches.
• Oversees design, development, and implementation of new/enhanced Pricing and profitability models for all products managed by AF by:
• Maintaining a thorough knowledge of existing models and methodology
• Keeping up-to-date on best practices in financial modelling and analytical methodologies
• Regularly reviewing methodologies, assumptions, calculations, and data sources used in the existing models
• Providing recommendations to Director, Pricing & Finance, AF product teams, and AF Senior Management for any required changes/improvements
• Working with other departments to develop and enhance Pricing and profitability models as required
• Ensuring new/enhanced models are adequately tested
• Leading/managing effective implementation including communication and training for model users
• Oversees the execution of ad hoc financial and business performance reporting requests from AF Senior Management, Dealer Finance Centers (DFCs), Scotia Dealer Advantage (SDA), CBF, and other internal stakeholders by:
• Reviewing initiatives/ad hoc requests to determine timeframe and allocation of resources
• Discussing timeframes with clients and ensuring initiatives are properly prioritized
• Effectively communicating the scope and anticipated outcomes and deliverables to staff
• Directing and coordinating key activities to ensure all client requests are met
• Reviewing/approving analyses/recommendations and discussing results with clients where required
• Oversees SDA-specific processes, including month-end activities, preparation of SDA financial statements, and GST/HST and Corporate Tax Returns.
• Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

• University degree in business, accounting, or finance is required
• Master's degree and/or professional accounting designation preferred)
• Advanced knowledge of financial and management accounting principles with related work experience is required
• 5-7 years of relevant experience in the financial or related industry required
• Extensive knowledge of the Bank's financial reporting systems is preferred
• Solid knowledge of Automotive Finance products, organizational structures and delivery channels is desirable
