Description
Primary Duties, The Finance Officer provides accounting support services in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with best accounting practices. The Finance Officer works under the direction of the Administration and performs such specific accounting duties as the Administrator may direct from time to time. The Finance Officer performs all of the duties of an Accounting Clerk and in addition deals with higher level accounting associated with generation of financial statements, budgeting, specialized reports, project management and disbursement control for contracts. Proficiency use the accounting software program(s) adopted by Nekaneet First Nation. Proficiency use the spreadsheet software program adopted by Nekaneet First Nation. Performs accounting functions dealing with Bank reconciliation to include but not limited to:
Petty Cash processing
Payroll data entry and processing
Payroll deductions and processing
Benefits package remittances and premium processing
Accounts payable processing
Accounts receivable processing, deposits and other banking
Disbursement processing for contracts and construction or renovation projects
Cheque requisitions and processing
Purchase order and work order processing
Goods receipt processing
Journal entries
