Reporting to the VP Corporate Treasury, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing direct support to the payment and settlements, balance sheet management, cost accounting, profitability, liquidity risk, interest rate risk, regulatory reporting, and data management demands of the credit union.
What will you do?
- Prepare monthly Board and Management Reporting (BMIS)
- Prepare daily cash balances, Cannex and broker deposit entries and other reporting as requested
- Undertake data gathering, processing and analysis, prepare summaries of findings
- Assist in identifying and monitoring loan and deposit growth patterns
- Undertake basic statistical, mathematical, investment, trend and/or financial analyses; maintain databases; provide recommendations on data/information requirements, analytical methods, and study objectives
- Assist in automating key processes of the department using MS Power Query, Power BI or other methods
- Assist in identifying and monitoring loan and deposit growth patterns
- Develop and retrofit all data processing needs of the Finance department
- Assess risks when making decisions, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
- 1-3 years of job-related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office programs
- ALM Software, MS Power BI and/or programming experience an asset
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality
- Demonstrated alignment with IFCU's corporate values and Codebook
