Job Title:Financial AnalystDepartment: Finance Competition: 86534 Internal/External: Both Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time Location: Moncton- Hybrid Salary: Competitive Compensation Reports To: Manager
The Financial Analyst is responsible to ensure timely and accurate preparation and recording of financial data as well as providing qualitative analysis. The role ensures that all internal and external financial reporting deadlines are achieved, while maintaining a high level of service to our external customers and shareholders.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing journal entries and performing various ledger control account reconciliations relating to various accounts.
  • Preparing accounts payable for processing and answering questions about invoices and payments.
  • Processing and recording monthly credit card statements.
  • Banking processing - Verifying completeness of reports, providing information about issued/cashed cheques, researching recalled and rejected payments, bank reconciliations, cheque continuity.
  • Recording and analyzing key operating expenses and insurance related payments and receivables, ensuring proper account coding, setting up accruals and verifying to budget and documenting variances.
  • Participating in the preparation of materials required for the budget, forecast and year-end audit process.
  • Assisting with operational expense budgets and issuing departmental operational expense reports.
  • Assisting with annual tax filling process including balancing, verifying and issue tax slips on disability payments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with major in accounting or finance.
  • 2 - 4 years of related experience. Knowledge of life insurance accounting considered an asset.
  • Enrolled, or interest in enrolling, in CPA educational program considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Strong Excel skills required.
  • Oracle database querying would be considered an asset.
  • Must enjoy learning and learns technical information quickly.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Self-directed and able to work independently, as well as part of the team.
  • Bilingualism (ENG/FR) considered an asset.
