Does the idea of working in a collaborative and face-paced environment, for a word-class retailer interest you? Reporting to the Senior Manager, Controls Compliance, you will apply your expertise in internal controls over financial reporting, and information technology general controls, using strong knowledge of the COSO Framework. You will also be heavily involved with Controls Compliance and Information Technology General Controls (ITGC) activities support functions. Your other responsibilities will include supporting the ICFR and ITGC Program office for internal controls' testing.

About the Role
- Possess strong knowledge of the COSO Framework, with direct experience in ICFR, maintaining proper documentation (ICFR controls narratives and mapping), monitoring and reporting on the remediation of identified gaps to support the LCBO ICFR and ITGC Program Office.
- Assists with identifying and assessing risks and providing control improvement recommendations to strengthen controls impacting the financial statements, in alignment with the COSO Framework.
- Assists with reviewing and mitigating remediation plans, providing guidance to remediate control deficiencies identified through ICFR testing.
- Supports management of the risk and control matrix (RACM) updates in TeamMate+ and recommends process improvements to strengthen controls impacting the financial statement, in alignment with the COSO Framework.
- Liaises with control owners to update and maintain ICFR narratives, including controls mapping using business process mapping notations (BPMN).
- Participate in multiple projects in the research, selection and implementation of new software related to Controls Compliance, including participating in training, testing and documentation.
- Manage ICFR charter, ensuring requirements are fulfilled and documented, as directed.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration or Commerce, and a CPA designation (required).
- Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in audit (internal and external), controls and compliance framework in a beverage and alcohol business like the LCBO.
- Demonstrated 3 - 5 years sound analytical and problem solving, effective communication skills (both written and verbal) and organizational and time-management skills.
- Demonstrated detailed understanding of audit assertions, in-depth knowledge of governance, risk and compliance frameworks such as COSO 2013 and regulatory frameworks that govern ICFR.
- Good understanding of financial statement assertions and their practical application related to financial controls.
- Ability to make decisions based on a combination of data, professional judgment and common sense.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint) and experience in TM+ or other related controls management applications.
- Detail oriented, have a proactive work style and ability to work on several priorities concurrently.
