Secondment/Contract Duration: Up to 12 Months

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Retail Accounting, you will provide comprehensive reconciliation, business analysis and financial reporting for all tenders. You will also participate in financial system projects, upgrades and implementations of various complex point-of-sale, sales audit, and tender processing initiatives to ensure integrity of financial reporting.

About the Role
- Tender reconciliation processes and analysis, database integrity and recouping non-settlement of funds.
- Oversee exceptions with respect to reconciliations, debit/credit, Gift Card, Air Miles, periodic reporting and analysis, as required.
- System client acceptance testing for current procedures/new projects/upgrades as assigned including business continuity.
- Period-end and year-end tasks - collaborating with client divisions and external auditors to ensure all required objectives are met.
- Prepare, test and update standard operating procedure documents as required.
- Provide strong technical leadership and guidance to department staff members and project teams to improve processes.
- Post-secondary education in business or a related field and/or equivalent job-related experience.
- Extensive experience working in a collaborative retail & financial environment related to sales, margin, tender reporting, and financial analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) is a must.
- Experience with Oracle software or equivalent financial tools.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, as you collaborate with team members and business partners across the organization (both in the office and virtually).
- Progressive analytical and strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and sound judgment.
- Data-driven with the ability to analyze and review numbers and trends to support sales, tender and ad hoc financial reporting, reviews & recommendations to senior management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment while managing multiple tasks and competing priorities, leveraging sound judgement and decision-making abilities.
- Highly motivated with strong drive for continuous improvement with or without direction.
- Advanced business and financial acumen to drive business performance, embracing change and innovation.
- The ability to conduct complex financial analysis and learn new financial software and systems with ease.
- Detail oriented with strong organization skills is a must.
