As the most northerly township in the County of Simcoe, the Township of Tiny offers 70km of coastline along beautiful Georgian Bay. The municipality’s approximate population of 13,000 residents at least doubles in the summer as the region is a popular destination for both tourism and cottagers due to its beautiful waterfront areas and small-town appeal.
Due to a vacancy, the Township of Tiny is currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Financial Analyst.
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, Deputy CAO/ Treasurer and working closely with the Deputy Treasurer, the Financial Analyst supports and assists in the annual budget process, month-end and year-end account analysis, reconciliations, journal entries, year-end external audit, monthly/quarterly reporting of operational and capital activities, working with the Asset Management Coordinator for Tangible Capital Asset reporting, corporate insurance renewals and case tracking, grant administration and reporting, HST reporting, energy reporting, assistance with municipal taxation activities and other ad-hoc reporting and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The preferred candidate possesses the following:
- Post-secondary degree with a major in Finance or Accounting.
- 2 to 5 years of related work experience preferably in a municipal government setting.
- A formal accounting designation considered an asset.
- Ability to conduct detailed and/or non-structured analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Advanced MS Excel skills and use of Microsoft Office products, as well as the ability to learn other software products quickly (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics, Questica Budget Software).
- Microsoft Dynamics, Report Designer and Power BI skills considered an asset.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills and attention to detail is critical in this function.
- Strong ability to extract and compile data for the purpose of ad-hoc analysis and reporting.

The Township of Tiny offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Pay Rate - $ 34.87 to $43.59 per hour.
