Financial Controller - Lloydminster

Our client, a very reputable company based in Lloydminster, AB, is in search of a full-time FinancialController tooversee the entire financial activity. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is highly motivated and experienced in the accounting field. This position will start as soon as the right candidate is identified.

Target Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: Permanent

Location: Lloydminster, AB

Wage Range: $80 - $100 K/year, to be negotiated

Hours: 40 hr/week, Full Time depending on education and experience

Vacation: 3 weeks but open to negotiations

Responsibilities:

• Organizing and providing multi-tasked accounting and operational services including preparing documentation, editing, and verifying accuracy, compiling data/reports, coordinating the efficient flow of paperwork amongst departments
• Reconciling bank and general ledger accounts
• Highlighting key payment dates, up and coming cash transactions and cash flow forecasting
• Identifying and reporting on key metrics and financial progress to the senior management team
• Preparing internal monthly and quarterly financial statements for multiple profit centers
• Preparing reporting packages for external parties such as lenders
• Ensuring on-time compliance with provincial and federal reporting requirements, filings, and payments
• Working within Excel and QuickBooks Desktop to post journal entries, review data, run reports, analyze data and problem solve
• AR, AP, payroll, GST, PST, WCB, T4’s, month/year-end reporting
Preparation of working papers for external accountant for year-end financial statements

Skill Set / Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, CPA designation being an asset
• 5+ years of experience at supervisory level or in a similar role using QuickBooks desktop or similar software
• Understanding of oil transportation industry regulatory and safety requirements
• Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, TelPay, Enverus/Cortex/Open Invoice, budgets, and forecasts
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls
• Analytical, with excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Clear criminal record check
