Financial Officer

Paul Meunier & Sons Farms Ltd. is a diversified, family run organization with feedlot, cropping and cow/calf enterprises located near Barrhead AB. We are a progressive and growing organization looking to add a new position. The Financial Officer will have the opportunity to make a difference in our business as we are passionate about agriculture and committed to "Thriving Plants, Animals and People". This position has the potential for some remote work.

Responsibilities:

Overall Financial Management

• Implement Cash Management System with regular Ownership Reporting
• Regular and ongoing budgeting
• Bookkeeping Oversight
• Bank Reporting
• Collaboration with partners
• Assist with strategic planning

Inventory Management

• Implement Inventory Management System
• Collaborate with partners on inventory management
• Weekly inventory reports
• Monthly Compliance Reporting

Profitability Analysis

• Pen closeouts
• Enterprise analysis
• Internal review of expense accounts
• Monthly cost comparisons with partners

Programs

• Apply for grants as available
• Manage regulatory requirements as needed

Introduce Technology

• Transition office to paperless within a year
• Introduce technology to capture data from daily farm activities

Experience

• Accounting Designation and/or
• 5 + years Banking Experience
• Preference given to candidates familiar with agriculture
