Position:
Fishing Guides drive our fishing boats and pontoon boats. They plan, lead and host fishing trips for individuals and groups on Otter Lake, day fly out lakes, and Outposts. Guides ensure an exceptional guest experience through professionalism, safety, knowledge of lake(s) and fishing techniques, preparing shore lunch, sharing stories, and responding to guest needs and requests. Guides who are living on site with us will be expected to work in other departments if not guiding.
Skills and Qualifications:
Ensure guest compliance with fishing regulations
Fillet and wrap fish
Record fish counts
Exceptional customer service skills
High level of angling knowledge and proficiency
Knowledge and/or willingness to learn Thompsons Resort lakes
Navigational skills
Team work
Excellent communication skills
Courteous and professional
Boating license
Safety conscious
CPR and First Aid
Schedule and Hours:
This is a busy seasonal operation. Depending on operational and staffing needs you may be working split-shifts and/or 7-days a week during our busy times. June is our busiest month.
Benefits:
Free-of-charge accommodation and one staff meal/day. Special staff rates in restaurant and the Churchill River Trading Post. Use of company fishing boats during off-work hours at a flat rate of $10/use.
