What You Will Be Doing
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service to guests and colleagues
- Assist team members and guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
- Have full knowledge of beverage lists and promotions, menu items, ingredients, preparation methods
- Have full knowledge of Novotel and Albion Rooms service standards, and ensure applied, and enforced
- Holding pre-shift meetings with Serving staff in an effective, systematic manner, involving colleagues in solution finding when necessary
- Training new hires in Serving and set-up/cleaning duties in a clear, systematic manner
- Re-training team members as required in a clear, systematic manner
- Follow and lead all safety and sanitation, and steps of service procedures when handling Food and Beverage
- Addressing guest concerns as they arise in a professional and courteous manner
- Managing technical issues with the point of sales system as they may arise in an efficient manner
- Communicating with kitchen colleagues and chefs
- Ensuring guest satisfaction and addressing any dining concerns
- All other duties as assigned by Food and Beverage Manager
Qualifications
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage stress and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm and composed
- Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to be assertive in communication, without being aggressive
- Ability to coach and motivate
- Previous Point of Sale system experience/ability to troubleshoot issues (Silverware Preferred)
- Valid Ontario Smart Serve
- Flexibility in schedule (must be available evenings, weekends, holidays)
- Desire to grow into a management role preferred
