Job purpose

As a Food & Beverage Host at Cobble Beach, you are responsible for the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. You must possess expertise on all Food and Beverage offerings within the establishment. You will be expected to present yourself in a professional manner, reflecting the upscale environment of your workplace. Special attention should be paid to providing an exceptional customer experience during all steps of service as well as maintaining a team atmosphere with your peers on both the service and culinary teams to achieve your common goal.

Duties and responsibilities

· Learn all details of menu and anticipate questions that may be asked

· Learn wine & cocktail lists

· Follow all steps of service

· Ensure guest satisfaction

· Professionally deal with complaints or dissatisfied guests

· Maintain a clean & tidy workplace

· Understanding of cocktail list & popular cocktails

· Ability to recommend menu items; having knowledge of flavours and composition

· Ability to recommend wines & cocktails; understanding flavour profiles

· Stock, organize, clean work stations

· Answer phone & taking reservations through Opentable

· Understanding of Cobble Beach Resort as a whole

· Identify and take advantage of opportunities to up-sell

· Other duties as assigned

Working conditions

This position you to be available anytime the food & beverage operations require it. This includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and banquets & special occasions inclusive of Concours d’Elegance. This position does require long hours and will include working holidays.

Physical requirements

· Working on your feet for 8-10 hours

· Ability to lift approx. 40 lbs

Salary: From $16.55 per hour
