We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Food Security Coordinator. As a Food Security Worker, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring access to safe and nutritious food for vulnerable populations. In this role, you will collaborate with community organizations, government agencies, and food banks to develop and implement strategies that address food insecurity. Reporting directly to the Housing Programs Manager, the Food Security Coordinator
is responsible for the coordination of Food Security activities.
Job Duties:
Plan, prepare, and serve meals and snacks for clients living in a 24-hour 7 day a week supportive housing environment.
Clean and organize kitchen, equipment, and food storage areas.
Supervise and work with case management staff and clients.
Manage kitchen, food inventories and purchasing for two supportive living homes.
Seek out in-kind donations and grants that assist with securing food items for the Food Security program.
Facilitating food preparation sessions with clients.
Arrange and coordinate foodbank orders and pick-ups.
Develop and implement programs to increase Food Security and reduce food insecurity.
Providing education and training to individuals and the community on Food Security and nutrition.
Advocating for policies and programs that promote Food Security and reduce food insecurity.
