Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas
- Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations
- Pull and prepare product for shipment
- Use radio frequency equipment for picking, receiving, put away, and load functions, as required
- On a daily basis, inspect and report minor maintenance requirements on the forklift, bobcat or other equipment
- Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required
- Operate equipment in tight and congested areas
- Work in tandem to move large, off-balance loads as required
- Communicate with other operators and ground crew throughout the day
- Prep and load shipments onto trucks
- Yard cleanup and organization
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods
- Sound knowledge of products, sizes and lift procedures
- Maintain all materials in the yards and warehouse in an organized and efficient manner
- Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion
- Notify immediate Supervisor of any issues that may arise
- Other duties, as advised by direct supervisor
Qualifications:
- Critical lift experience is a must
- Manufacturing Industry experience is considered a strong asset.
- 1 year of experience operating various equipment (forklift, bobcat, ariel work platform, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Effective organizational skills
- Effective verbal and listening skills
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
Working Conditions:
- On-call may be required
- Overtime may be required
- Extreme weather conditions while working indoors and outdoors
- Uneven and rough terrain
- Exposure to various fumes when in the shop facilities
