Shipping And Receiving/Forklift Operator

Our client, in the Commercial Laundry industry is seeking a talented and motivated Shipping/Receiving/Forklift Operator, reporting to Warehouse Manager.

Our client being the leading provider of commercial laundry equipment and service in Canada. They offer a complete line of vended and non-vended laundry equipment and multi-load washer/extractors and tumblers. Additionally, our client pride ourselves on an extensive parts inventory and qualified Service Teams who keep your laundry operations in top running order.

Job Data:

• Certificate in Forklift is a MUST
• Canadian Driver's license in a must
• Experience in Scanning/Sorting
• Receiving and Stocking/Stacking
• Assigned in the Warehouse Department
• Work Hours: Day shift, 7:30AM – 4:00PM - Mon-Fri
• Personal Protective Equipment: Safety Footwear, Safety Vest
• Special Training Requirements: Forklift Operator Certification

Purpose and Nature of Job:

Manage all inbound and outbound shipping activities and ensure machines are transported to the appropriate areas within the warehouse for collections, refurbishments/scrap, storage, and/or outbound shipping. Ensure all inventory is correctly and safely stacked on wooden skids.

Responsibilities:

• Loading/Offloading new washers and dryers using forklift truck, moving boxes and pallets throughout warehouse storage areas.
• Paperwork and computer work, management of inbound and outbound shipments, call/email shipping companies to arrange pick-ups.
• Manually moving machines onto pallets or within warehouse for collections, storage, refurbishment, or scrap, using standard hand truck dolly
• Scanning all inbound and outbound machines into our inventory management system

Required Skills:

• Scanning and sorting incoming and outgoing stock
• Receiving, stocking, and stacking
• Pulling, packing, and loading
• Able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis and occasionally move 200 pounds or more with a dolly/hand truck.
• Strong sense of time organization and urgency
• Able to work independently and within a team
• Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements:
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role (strong asset)
• Forklift Certification mandatory
