Located in the tech hub of Ottawa, we are looking for a Full Stack Developer to propel our product to new heights. This role will be pivotal in rolling out new and innovative products, integrating new technologies, and ensuring a seamless experience for our users.

Role Summary

As a Full Stack Developer, you’ll work with a small team building new features and maintaining existing products and infrastructure.

As our ideal candidate, you’ll play a significant role in contributing to a growing team in a dynamic bootstraped environment. You’ll dive right into our codebase and be pushing to production in no time and you’ll be capable of handling full-stack responsibilities from frontend design to backend logic and database management.

Ottawa, ON, Canada – Located in the heart of Ottawa’s tech start-up ecosystem at Invest Ottawa, MyVeloFit’s office is just a stone’s throw from great cafes, eateries, and the city’s most vibrant neighbourhoods. Conveniently close to LRT transit stops and scenic pathways, our location ensures easy access and encourages a balance between work and well-being.

Our facilities include showers and secure bike parking, catering to the needs of our active team.

What You’ll Do:

• Using Ruby on Rails, Python, PostgreSQL, Docker, Heroku, and AWS.
• Developing modern cloud architectures on AWS (Serverless, Docker, etc.)
• Managing Data with DB/BI tools like SQL.
• Developing new and unique products.
• Maintaining core infrastructure.
• Integrating 3rd party APIs (Mailchimp, Stripe, etc)

Who We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of experience in software development across multiple platforms
• Experience with an object-oriented programming language (Specifically Ruby or Python)
• Experience with MVC or a Web Framework (Ruby on Rails, or Django, Node.js)
• Experience building applications on the Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience with Git versioning and deployment pipeline systems
• Experience in, or the desire to work in a startup environment
• A self-starter who is hungry to learn new technologies and improve your skills

It’s a bonus if you have:

• Experience or interest in Computer Vision
• Good understanding of Tailwind CSS and/or other utility-first css frameworks
• A degree in computer science or engineering, or a diploma, certificate, or other formal training in software development.
• A passion for bikes
