Role overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Java Full Stack Developer to join our remote team. As a Java Full Stack Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web-based applications using Java technologies. You will collaborate with multi-functional teams to define innovative solutions and ensure the scalability and performance of applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both front-end and back-end development with a focus on Java technologies.

What you’ll do
- Design, implement and maintain Java-based applications that can be high-volume and low-latency
- Analyze user requirements to define business objectives
- Envisioning system features and functionality
- Define application objectives and functionality
- Ensure application designs conform with business goals
- Develop and test software
- Identify and resolve any technical issues arising
- Create detailed design documentation
- Propose changes to current Java infrastructure
- Develop technical designs for application development
- Develop multimedia applications
- Write well designed, testable code
- Conducting software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging
- Lead Java and Java EE application development
- Develop documentation to help users
- Redefining requirements into stipulations
- Prepare and produce releases of software components
- Support continuous improvement, investigating alternatives and technologies, and making pitches for architectural review

Working arrangements
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring three days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs.
