Funeral Director

Qualifications:

- Funeral Director license – minimum of five years (Ontario license an asset or willingness to obtain an Ontario license)

- Bilingual (English and French - a definite asset)

- Available a flexible schedule (evenings, weekends) as required.

- Current and proper driver’s license and driving record.

- On-call (overnight, on rotation)

- Administration skills: complete paperwork in a timely and accurate manner

Job Description:

- Schedule includes weekend rotation and once every 3 weeks.

- Arrange appointments with the public for at-need funeral services.

- Direct funeral services.

- Co-ordinate appointments with external service providers.

- Ensure complete product knowledge (caskets, urns, stationery, etc.).

- Prepare visitation rooms as required.

- Prepare documentation (contracts, prayer cards, acknowledgment cards etc.) as required and in a timely manner.

- Transfer caskets and human remains within and outside the property.

- Co-ordinate arrangements, including clergy, press notices, flowers, family pick- ups, etc.

- Maintain appearance (dusting, vacuuming) of selection room, visitation rooms, ceremonial hall and other rooms available to the families.

- Act as liaison with external service providers’ representatives.

- Co-ordinate at-need appointments with cemetery Councilors if at-need families require cemetery property/monuments/etc.

- Co-ordinate receptions with catering company.

- Schedule host/hostess for reception duties.

- All other tasks assigned by direct supervisor and/or management.

Funeral Suit:

-You will be provided with a funeral suit after the completion of your 3-month probationary period.

Salary: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
