As we continue with our growth strategy, we are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of General Foreman – based out of Suncor BasePlant Fort McMurray, AB.
The General Foreman will report to the Site Managers the Foreman will be responsible for leading the daily activities of the crew to executing the assigned job scope in a safe and efficient manner. This role will report out of Suncor facility on a 10 on 4 off shift rotation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance and enforcement of corporate health and safety policies and procedures in performing all tasks
- Collaborate with the Site Manager to determine the daily work activities
- Delegate work activities to the crew members
- Ensure work is performed as per the approved scope of work
- Assist in the resolution of design issues, change requests, material defects and equipment problems
- Monitor job progress and provides regular progress reporting to the Site Manager
- Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency
- Directly supervise all phases of the project / scope and ensure quality control testing on all work performed
- Provide coaching and training as required to crew members and give feedback on employee’s performance
- All other duties as assigned
- A solid understanding of construction trades and construction techniques
- Minimum Experience 7-10 years
- Strong leadership and delegation skills
- Effectiveness in the areas of construction safety and productivity
- Strong time management, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Possess a valid driver's licence
- 3 years+ Operating Experience in Industrial Environment Commissioning and Start up experience.
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to interpret plans, drawings and specifications related to operation of plant equipment Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Demonstrate awareness and understanding of corporate policies, practices and procedures regarding health and safety and the environment and commit to personal compliance with same.
