Health Care Assistant (HCA) Program

(Williams Lake, BC)

Discovery Community College are looking for the right individual to instruct our Health Care Assistant program in the Williams Lake, BC area using the curriculum provided by the College. Instructors should be caring and supportive with excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

The instruction will be through both online classrooms and in-facility clinical in accordance to all COVID-19 protocols and procedures.

This program will be a 28-32 hours a week schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have:

• Current full registration with the BCCNM
• Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners (teaching / mentoring)
• Two or more years of full-time nursing experience
  • One year = 1400 hours so must have 2800 hours of nursing experience
• Nursing experience must include working with older adults with complex health needs
• Nursing experience must include experience or orientation in home support and multi-level care
