We are seeking a student-focused, team-oriented grade 8 to 12 teacher. This teacher would be a flexible, outgoing, positive professional who would teach a variety of High School courses. The successful candidate would collaborate with the High School team to teach a broad range of courses (for graduation).

Klemtu is surrounded by pristine wilderness in the Great Bear Rainforest. Wildlife abounds, from eagles to bears, sea otters to sea lions and whales. The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
Eligible for B.C. Certification
The ability and energy to work with multi-age groups and meet the needs of students with a range of learning styles and abilities using a variety of teaching strategies
The ability and desire to work closely with staff in a team-oriented approach to teaching and learning
Strong interest in innovation and inquiry
Ability to embed local Indigenous culture and ways of knowing into teaching practices
An interest in outdoor land-based education
Strong classroom management skills
Job Duties:
Teach a range of secondary courses to High School students (grade 8-12 students)
Plan and implement the re-designed BC Curriculum
Communicate with students, and parents/guardians
Work with colleagues as part of a collaborative team
Use assessment, diagnosis and intervention techniques for students who experience learning difficulties
Implementing and support students in outdoor, place-based lesson in the Great Bear Rainforest (ocean, forest, etc.)
Salary and Benefits
Salary range $63,334 - $101,103 per annum, (based upon education, experience, and the School District No. 52 Prince Rupert Teachers’ Salary Grid)
