The Human Resources Advisor is responsible for strategic Human Resources solutions with an emphasis on developing strong partnerships with the business to support organizational development.
The Human Resources Advisor works directly with management team members and associates to ensure corporate objectives are achieved and HR programs are aligned to the business needs.
The HR advisor works through complex employee issues from investigation to resolution. This role is also responsible for working and coaching the management team on effective HR practices to achieve strong associate engagement.

The job involves:
-Providing human resources consultation to client groups at various levels within our fast-paced environment
-Coaching and providing guidance to management on the interpretation of workplace policies and procedures, federal and provincial legislation and employee relations matters including disciplinary issues up to and including employment separation
-Operating independently to make decisions and resolve concerns and inquiries regarding programs, policies and benefits
-Conducting investigations in accordance to internal response procedures, preparing recommendations to mitigate risk and reviewing outcomes with management
-Conducting focus groups and strategizing with senior management to create and implement programs that increase employee engagement, improve morale and overall productivity
-Identifying trends and areas requiring focus, strategizing potential solutions and preparing proposals which outline the value-add of programs being recommended
-Reviewing staffing trends and gaps to identify long-term solutions and preparing staffing strategies accordingly
-Promoting diversity and inclusion through workplace practices, policies and staffing solutions
-Supporting and working with other areas of Human Resources to ensure consistent and seamless application of HR programs and services
-Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation
-Shifts available to work are Monday to Friday or Tuesday to Saturday
The ideal candidate has:
-College or University degree in Business or Human Resources or equivalent
-CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) designation an asset
-Minimum 5 years progressive human resources experience in strategic roles in a company with over 500 employees
-Experience working in a Gaming, Hospitality or Tourism environment is an asset
-Excellent knowledge and application of Ontario Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, WSIB, Labour Relations Act and Employment Insurance Act
-Excellent computer skills
-Strong leadership skills with the ability to achieve outcomes through consultation and influence
-Proven track record of using contemporary human resources practices, analytical and problem solving skills to provide proactive solutions to operational challenges
-Expertise in both written communication and presentation skills
-Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
-Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive issues
