Position Overview

You are a Human Resources professional who puts people first and wants to foster a proactive and problem-solving approach that centres on uncovering the best solutions for everyone. With the values and skills you bring, you’d make a great fit as a Human Resources (HR) Business Partner
Joining our HR department, you will be the focal point connecting HR to our leaders within customer contact centre to align our business decisions with our people. 
You’ll bring your natural ability to coach our leaders on how to listen, understand and resolve employee relations issues with an employee-centric approach. Your collaborative approach and excellent communications skills will help guide our teams on continually growing our employee engagement through supportive and positive interactions.
In year 1, you will:
-Work with the HR department to understand and deliver value-added services to management and employees that reflect our business values and objectives.
-Build open and honest partnerships with our customer contact centre leaders, employees and union representatives.
-Understand the customer contact centre business while integrating HR strategies, policies and processes aligning HR efforts with business goals.
-Identify barriers to success and facilitate positive change in people management.
In year 2, you will:
-Strategize our big-picture approach to grow our overall performance and growth by engaging our employees.
-Continue to collaborate with your client group to offer the best solutions and programs to our employees.
-Partner with business leaders to advise on HR strategies focused on labour relations, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee engagement. 
What it takes:
-A diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, such as business administration or human resources, and a minimum of five years of human resources experience in a unionized environment. Certification as a Human Resources Professional (CHRP) is preferred.
-A demonstrated understanding of labour laws, HR policies and processes.
-Incredible communication skills and an ability to make genuine connections with every interaction. 
-Confident negotiation and conflict resolution skills to bridge the best interest of all parties involved. 
-A balanced and tactful approach to respecting confidentiality and disclosure as needed, as well as the requirements of collective agreements.
What you need to know:
-Occasional travel within BC will be required.
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
