Job Purpose
Alpha Technologies Ltd. has an opportunity for a motivated and knowledgeable HR Business Partner to join our Human Resources Team in our Burnaby location.
The HR Business Partner can expect to grow their HR knowledge and experience in a thriving BC-based company. This individual will be responsible for a variety of areas such as onboarding, some benefits administration, leave management, full-cycle recruitment, HRIS management, general HR administration, and ad hoc HR projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
-Plan and conduct new hire onboarding to ensure new hire details are taken care of, managers are knowledgeable about their responsibilities, and organizational and position objectives are defined, communicated, and tracked
-Assist with benefits administration for salaried and hourly employees
-Manage leave management scenarios to comply with internal guidelines and external legislations
-Full-cycle recruitment for hourly employees: sourcing, screening, interviewing, and closing of fixed-term positions within defined parameters and standard recruitment practices
-Manage all university and co-op recruitment and relationships
-Responsible for the HRIS system as the primary manager for HR Data, including reports generation Review and conduct company training as required
-Meet with managers and employees to educate, discuss issues, resolve conflict, problem solve, and provide support concerning employee relations issues
-Facilitate company-wide initiatives such as Wellness, Lunch and Learns and Alpha Buzz Assist with responding to general employee questions on HR matters
-Collaborate with the HR Team on various projects such as:
-Ongoing development of Human Resource function within the company Internal communications
-Compensation management Performance management
-Actively promote and contribute to a positive and productive workplace environment Work on ad hoc projects as required
Qualifications
Credentials and Experience
-University degree or college diploma in a related discipline
-At least 3- 5 years’ experience in progressive HR positions, including 1-2 years dedicated to a specialty such as benefits administration, recruitment, HRIS, or training and development
-Hands-on experience with HRIS and report generation, specifically ADP’s WorkforceNow and SuccessFactors is highly desirable
-Excellent communication skills including written, oral, and listening
-Strong ability to build trusting professional relationships with all departments and across all levels of the organization Demonstrate a high degree of initiative and action orientation
-Resourceful, creative problem solver
-Demonstrated negotiation skills to successfully attract top talent Exceptional computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
-Able to handle challenging situations in a confidential and diplomatic manner Effective time management and prioritization skills
-Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
-Proven track-record of responsiveness and meeting deadlines
-Strong knowledge of legislations related to HR practices such as Employment Standards Act of BC, WorkSafe BC, and the Human Rights Code
