Summary of Position:
The dynamic nature of this role requires dealing with the day-to-day management of HR operations, payroll, and Health & Safety. You will be reporting directly to the Director of Operations & President.
Responsibilities:
· Developing & implementing HR strategies and initiatives that align with the company’s goals
· Help create organization guidelines, policies, and procedures; updating company handbooks
· Managing the recruitment and selection process, from job postings to interviewing candidates
· Creating job descriptions and offers of employment; update records for employees/new hires
· Conducting employee onboarding
· Organizing training sessions (internal training and health/safety training)
· Overseeing and managing performance reviews with supervisors & managers
· Bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, etc.
· Seek/propose solutions to problems; create plans to foster and boost employee morale
· Managing employee benefits (health insurance packages, pension plans, etc.)
· Submit HR & HS KPI reports for the Director of Operations
· Ensuring legal compliance (Human Resource & health/safety)
· Work with external agencies for government and program employment or training grants
· Liaise with external agencies when necessary (ex: law firms, ministry of labour, WSIB)
· Assist with building pay and salary structures for all employees within the organization
· Process electronic timesheets to ensure accurate and timely completion of bi-weekly payroll
· Process employment records as necessary
· Manage and keep up to date with Health & Safety legislation, internal records, and documentation
· Oversee the Joint Health & Safety Committee; hold monthly/quarterly meetings
· Conduct internal auditing and compliance auditing for Health & Safety
· Develop, implement, and maintain Health & Safety programs
· Support & assist with the Return to Work program
· Respond and investigate employee Health & Safety concerns
· Ensure training compliance for personnel, subcontractors and update files accordingly
· Manage special projects as assigned in a broad range of areas as business needs arise

Requirements:
· Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Human Resource generalist
· Bachelor degree in HR is preferred
· Experience with Health & Safety in the workplace
· Health and safety designations an asset
· Payroll experience an asset
· Proficient computer & software skills
· Ability to practice discretion and always maintain confidentiality
