Hey there! We're on the lookout for a Human Resources Assistant to join our team.
In this role, you'll be diving into key areas like recruitment, health and safety, employee well-being, recognition programs, and general HR administration. It's a great entry-level position, and the best part? There's plenty of room for you to grow and advance in your career.
You'll be working alongside me, the Director of Human Resources, as part of a three-person team. I'm based in Montreal, and we've got offices in Vancouver. While the role is mostly remote, we'll have the chance to meet and collaborate in person once or twice a week. Just a heads up, right now we're specifically looking for candidates in the Montreal area.

What you will be doing
Recruitment:
- Assist and support the recruitment process for our hostels and National Office, including posting job vacancies, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
- maintain recruitment records and ensure compliance with hiring policies and procedures.
- Participate in job fairs and other recruitment events as needed.
Health + Safety:
- Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety programs and policies.
- Maintain safety records and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of emergency preparedness plans and procedures.
- Assist in organizing and conducting emergency drills and training sessions.
Wellness and recognition initiatives:
- Support the development and implementation of employee wellness programs and recognition initiatives.
- Assist in organizing wellness events and activities.
Human Resources Administration
- Job Descriptions:
- Collaborate with HR team and department managers to create and update job descriptions.
- Draft and distribute disciplinary letters and other HR related correspondence.
- Ensure job descriptions are accurate, up to date, and aligned with organizational needs.
- Assist in communicating job changes and updates to relevant parties.
- Provide administrative support to the HR team, including file management, data entry, and record keeping.
- Assist in HR related projects, such as employee surveys, HRIS updates, and policy reviews.
What we are looking for
- Experience and/or education in the field of HR
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in HR software and tools.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong experience with MS Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills. You are patient with a sense of humor, and you pride yourself on being helpful.
- Strong ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Experience in the tourism, service, or hospitality industry an asset
- Bilingualism (English and French) is a definite asset
