Job description

The Import team’s primary responsibility is to extract, transform, and load data from other SaaS providers into Jane. We’re looking for a Data Import Specialist who have the technical skills to quickly and accurately interpret large amounts of data, as well as the soft skills to guide customers through an enjoyable onboarding experience. Like with all positions at Jane, this position is a remote position, allowing you to work anywhere you want across Canada. Before we were Jane, our Co-Founders were solving problems for their own clinics not realizing that a few years later, this team would grow to support tens of thousands of healthcare practices in more than 60 countries. Our platform is now helping to modernize the world of practice management software. We enable the likes of physiotherapists, mental health counsellors, chiropractors, and other allied health practitioners to run their practices in a digital-first way through features such as online booking, charting, scheduling, telehealth, and billing along with an evolving library of features. You can see more of them here. Although we’ve grown, still to this day, we’re rooted in solving clinics’ problems and making sure we don’t lose sight of Jane’s vision.

We have remained profitable for the past seven years, we’re product-led and growing organically (and responsibly) to the point where 85% of our customer growth is either from customer referrals or word of mouth. Growth like this is unique, especially in the world of SaaS, and it doesn’t happen by chance. We have a brilliant team of over 400 Janers who are doing an amazing job of listening to our customers, building what they need, and providing industry-leading support. We pride ourselves on flexibility & autonomy, some of our team block out their calendars to pick up their children from school (and this is normal at Jane), and we even have a #kids channel in Slack.

We’re not a clock-in clock-out system-type environment. With that being said, we’re not going to paint the picture of a perfect environment either. We’re a company that’s scaling quickly, we have many moving parts, many of us are doing this for the first time and sometimes, we don’t have processes in place or clear views which can require a lot of resourcefulness and a passion for problem-solving.

Compensation Expectations for the Role

Jane’s committed to paying our team members fairly, clearly, and above all, paying for growth. This is reflected by a strong starting annual salary of $60,000 CAD for the Import Specialist role at Jane. You’ll be eligible for a salary increase each year on your work anniversary that will reflect the hard work you’ll be doing to meet our customers’ high bar and the growth you’ll be experiencing in a fast-paced, high growth environment.

The impact you could have

    • Transition customer data by working with new customers to import their data and help plan and manage the technical side of their transition to Jane.
    • Support Jane’s Support staff by being a resource for technical questions, customer data fixes, and troubleshooting customer problems.
    • Work directly with customers who are experiencing technical issues that are beyond the knowledge scope of Jane’s Support team. Collaborate with the development team on new feature planning and implementation.
    • We value empathy and connection with our customers. We're looking for people who are comfortable speaking with Jane customers to gather missing data in order to make a successful import. Our main form of communication is done via e-mail but can be on phones as well.
    • Leverage your technical prowess to enhance and innovate our internal tooling, catalyzing operational efficiency and elevating our capabilities. Your skill set will be pivotal in shaping a cutting-edge technological landscape within the organization.
    • Serve as a dynamic representative at conferences, amplifying the team's presence and fostering collaborative partnerships that contribute to our collective success. Your ability to connect with diverse audiences directly influences the positive impact we make in the industry.

The experience we feel we need

    • Expert-level knowledge of Excel: Command an expert-level proficiency in Excel, showcasing an adept ability to manipulate and analyze data, create advanced formulas, and generate comprehensive reports. Your mastery of Excel is a cornerstone for driving efficiency and informed decision-making.
    • Basic-level knowledge of database concepts.
    • Demonstrate an innate knack for organization, driven by an unwavering commitment to detail. Your passion for perfection ensures that no gap goes unnoticed, creating an environment of seamless operations and heightened efficiency.
    • Excel in both verbal and written communication, articulating complex ideas with clarity and coherence. Your excellent communication skills foster collaborative environments, ensuring that information is conveyed effectively and comprehensively.
    • Agility: You’re an individual who can adapt and communicate technical details to non-technical people. You're a team player who's able to empathize and jump in for additional support when needed.

    • Customer Care: You're open to helping our Support team to help our customers to create a smooth transition to Jane. You lead with kindness and empathy in your communication.

Bonus points:

    • Ability to transform data programmatically.
    • Proficient in both Windows and Mac.
    • You've used Jane on the patient or customer end.
