Inventory Control Specialist
This dynamic position requires an individual who is hands on and able to coordinate a multiple set of tasks involved in the Company’s order replenishment system working with existing suppliers, freight forwarder(s), and steamship lines.
Strong accounting skills is a requirement.
Tasks will include the following:
Purchase variety of products with established suppliers in Europe
- Use Next Gen and other systems to place orders
Advise supplier and freight forwarder of impending orders with target shipping date.
- Supplier will confirm shipping date and Cubic Meters(CBM)
- Coordinate with Freight forwarder based on full containers, 60-66 CBM
- Verify with freight forwarder exact shipping date
Prepare documents for Customs(CBSA) approval
- Including product descriptions, tariff classification, import declarations, soup ingredients
Tracking shipments, arranging deliveries, communication with shipping line domestic carrier.
- Preparing costing documents for arrivals.
- Matching quantity and pricing to supplier invoices,
- Updating Next Gen Purchase Orders
Once container has been sorted and received, begin and complete costing.
- Update in Next Gen inventory
- Preparing costings and invoice(s) for indent orders.
- Journal entry of all invoices into NG
- Buy and book Foreign Exchange
- Run daily inventory register and inventory transaction
- Check for unusual adjustments.
- Check daily bank balance
- Enter and process payables
- Plan for weekly payables
- may be required to perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
Experience:
- Previous experience in inventory control or related field preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices
