Job Summary:
Join our dynamic Information Solutions Division (ISD) Resource Management Team as a Co-op Student, contributing to the optimization and efficiency of our IT personnel. As a vital member of the team, you will gain understanding in resource allocation, hands-on experience in process improvements, and communication within a fast-paced IT environment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing IT resource allocation by maintaining an accurate inventory of personnel.
- Reconcile ISD resources and their associated resource pools stored in Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) system against ISD's current organiational chart.
- Reconcile contractors (Contingent Workers) in PPM against contractors in Fieldglass.
- Remove obsolete resources from PPM.
- Maintain accurate individual hourly cost rate in PPM
- Follow-up with project managers to ensure timely forecast of resource utilization, monitor project timelines, and report on resource utilization.
- Facilitate effective communication within the ISD Resource Management Team and with other ISD teams, ensuring everyone is informed of resource availability and allocation changes.
- Help identify opportunities for resource optimization, recommending improvements to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist in generating regular reports on resource utilization. Help identify potential bottlenecks or areas for improvement.
Technical Skill Requirements:
- Proficient in using Excel for data analysis, reporting, and maintaining resource-related documentation.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI is an asset.
- Proficient with Office 365 including Outlook, Teams and SharePoint is required.
Soft Skill Requirements:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with team members and project stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate within a team environment and contribute to the overall success of the ISD Resource Management Team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities for resource optimization.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Required Education Level:
Enrollment in a relevant undergraduate program such as Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
Additional Qualifications:
Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced IT environment.
Proactive attitude and ability to take initiative.
Time management skills to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
