TMX Group’s Human Resources department is an impactful team responsible for providing TMX Group and its subsidiaries with the full suite of Human Resources services they need to support and develop their people strategies that are aligned with plans to grow and evolve the business.
Reporting to: Head, Total Rewards
A thought leader and trusted advisor to the organization on all aspects of employee broad-base and sales compensation. The incumbent will lead and mentor a diverse team of compensation professionals.
Liaising with senior business leaders and HR leadership, the individual will be accountable for supporting the compensation strategy for the organization, ensuring that both pay levels and program design are aligned with competitive market practice and TMX’s growth objectives.
Having previous experience leading a compensation team, with specific focus on implementing and administering best-in-class programs with measurable outcomes. You have the ability to influence and work collaboratively with cross function leaders to provide direction on complex compensation challenges and evolve programs with emerging business needs.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work with senior business leaders and HR leadership across the business to support the development and delivery of broad-based and sales compensation programs, pay structures and compensation frameworks

  • Leads the planning, communication, execution and administration of the year-end compensation process, while continuously finding and reviewing opportunities for improvement and automation to enhance the manager and employee experience

  • Lead ongoing enterprise education and support with respect to compensation programs, policies and processes that will drive maximum impact and value

  • Lead the team on annual market surveys by reviewing and assessing our global survey strategy to ensure market benchmarking analysis supports the business on how to interpret and incorporate market data into compensation decision making

  • Lead the transformation of compensation related data, processes and analytics, as well as developing measurement tools to assess compensation program effectiveness through compensation dashboards or summary reports on key metrics

  • Actively participate in compensation projects, M&A initiatives and building and preparing Human Resource Committee materials and external publications through engaging multiple partners across functions using well-established project planning and change management skills

  • Works with key team members in finance on salary planning, bonus accruals and payouts and other forecasting activities

Must haves:

  • Minimum of 8+ years multifaceted experience in a similar compensation management related capacity

  • Proven thought leader and consulting skills; collaborating with Business Leaders, HR stakeholders and other client groups with a high level of professionalism

  • Solid understanding of compensation principles, program design and processes; job evaluation methodologies and sales compensation programs

  • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and creativity with an eye for detail

  • Exceptional dedication to customer service with a strong sense of urgency

  • Advanced MS Office skills or Google equivalent, compensation modeling ability and project management experience

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance or a related field

Nice to haves:

  • Workday/HRIS system experience
  • Completion or progress toward CCP or CHRP designation preferred
